Abbreviated News: CARP New Jersey Friendsgiving

Contributed by CARP NJ

On November 29, 2020, CARP NJ hosted their annual potluck Friendsgiving where we gathered to spend quality time with friends and family enjoying everyone’s food. This year, due to COVID-19, our gathering was a lot smaller with just nine participants, but it was cozy. It started off with some icebreakers, where participants were split into groups and they had to either act, draw, or describe the word they picked out of a bowl. The first team to finish all the Thanksgiving themed words was the winner!

After that, New Jersey CARP director, Shogo Nakaza, opened up dinner with a heartfelt prayer reminding everyone of the meaning of Thanksgiving. It was a feast filled with laughter and open dialogue. When everyone was filled, there were board games set up and small activities to choose from. Everyone played and had a great time socializing past the ending time! It was a thankful and meaningful night that brought everyone closer in heart.
