On April 26th, Dallas CARP held an event at the North Lake Campus of Dallas College, in Irving, TX. The event was called "Love 101: Intro to Lasting Relationships." The one-hour program featured a talk from Michelle Beia, one of the officers of CARP at North Lake College. The main presenter of the program was Mr. Derrah Jackson, a guest speaker with the Medical Institute for Sexual Health (MI). Medical Institute for Sexual Health is a nonprofit health organization that equips people worldwide with medically accurate information to make well-educated decisions about their sexual health.

Mr. Jackson presented about the medical harms that can occur through promiscuous sexual behavior, and demonstrated the optimal health outcomes that occur when sex is kept within the context of marriage. Some of the statistics that he shared about the proliferation of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) were shocking for participants to hear, such as the fact that there are 26 million new STD cases in the U.S. every year. Participants were surprised that they hadn't heard about this endemic before, when it is of this magnitude.

The program highlighted the value of CARP's teachings and culture, which encourages young people to experience true love and sexual union in a committed marriage relationship. Overall, it was an eye-opening and uplifting event for everyone.
